KUALA LUMPUR: In a bid to reduce the congestion on the main route to Kota Baru and the east coast during the Chinese New Year holidays, the Works Department has identified a number of alternate routes and has urged motorists to use them.
Alternate route from Bentong via Kuala Lipis to Kota Baru
From the Karak Highway E8, exit to the Kampung Chinta Manis junction (Exit 813A) and head to the national road 1498
From Kampung Chinta Manis, go straight via 1498 to Felda Mempaga Jaya
From Felda Mempaga Jaya, go out to a T-junction towards Felda Klau
From Felda Klau, head straight to Kg Sg Ruan through the state route C149
From C149, enter federal route 8 and head to Kota Baru through Kuala Lipis.
Alternate route from Kuala Krai to Kota Baru
From federal route 8, enter state route D225 at Kg Sungai Peria, Kuala Krai (Section 311) to Simpang Tiga Pahi.
From Simpang Tiga Pahi, go straight to Guchil through state route D225 and return to the federal route 8 to Kota Baru
Alternate route from Bandar Kuala Krai to Kota Baru
From federal route 8, enter state route D233 at Bandar Krai.
From Bandar Krai, go straight to Persimpangan Guchil and enter again into route 8 to Kota Baru
