The Champions of Champions - FC Barcelona

Players from both sides won their fitness battles to make the starting line-ups: Andres Iniesta and Thierry Henry for Barcelona, and Rio Ferdinand for Manchester United.

Otherwise, Sylvinho played in defence for the Catalan giants, with Sergi Busquets also starting. United made one change from the semi-finals: Ryan Giggs in for the suspended Darren Fletcher, with Park Ji-Sung again involved.

First Half

Manchester United, playing in white, made a positive start, with Anderson winning a free kick from Toure Yaya. Cristiano Ronaldo's ensuing delivery swerved low into the body of Victor Valdes and bounced clear, and the onrushing Park might have finished were it not for a strong block by Gerard Pique.

After six minutes, Ronaldo picked up the ball in space, drove forward and let fly from 40-yards, hitting wide of Valdes' left-hand post. Less than two minutes later, in space on the left of the area, the Portuguese powerhouse was able to pluck the ball out of the air with his chest and slash a shot wide of the far post.

For all that, Barcelona opened the scoring before ten minutes were on the clock. Iniesta pulled the strings as the Blaugrana probed United for the first time, releasing a killer pass. Samuel Eto'o then evaded Nemanja Vidic with ease and poked under the body of Edwin van der Sar, before wheeling away to celebrate emotionally.

Still, the Barca rearguard continued to look a little nervy, and Ronaldo was able to test it again after being released by Ryan Giggs. However, Pique body-checked him 25-yards from goal and was shown the game's first first yellow card.

Lionel Messi had his first crack at the other end, after 19 minutes, but his swerving drive was just high and wide.

At the other end, it was clear that Ballon d'Or holder Ronaldo was trying to do it all himself in the final third. He squirmed away from Toure Yaya, but his shot trundled wide of the same post again.

From then on, the pattern of play many had expected from the start began to manifest itself: Barcelona keeping possession in spells and United working very hard to quash their many threats, whilst struggling to make headway.

Chances were limited. Xavi went close with a free kick attempt, but generally the United defence were doing just enough to repel the waves of pressure.

With the interval approaching, Messi did finally get his head down and pierce the opposition back-line, with Van der Sar spilling his eventual low cross.

Second Half

Sir Alex Ferguson had clearly noticed that Anderson had looked lost at times, not least in the build-up to the goal, thus he was hooked for Carlos Tevez.

The Red Devils started with energy, but the cooler heads of Barcelona fashioned an early opportunity. Iniesta picked out runner Henry from deep and, after cutting in from the left, the Frenchman's placed effort was blocked by Van der Sar.

Their hunger to win the 50-50 balls was evident, too, and soon Eto'o was clipping a ball to Messi at the far post. The Argentine was close to connecting, then appealed in vain for a penalty after feeling the presence of John O'Shea.

The pressure continued. Iniesta drove into the heart of United's defence and won a free kick just outside the area. Xavi stepped up to curl the free-kick round the wall, smacking the right-hand post.

United did stabilise eventually, and had a half-chance of their own. Wayne Rooney crossed from the right and Toure Yaya got just enough on the ball to take it away from Ronaldo and Tevez.

On the hour mark, Michael Carrick looked to play in Rooney again, but he overcooked his pass, much to the frustration of the burly forward.

Dimitar Berbatov came on for Park, and for a short spell United looked more purposeful. Just as they were building a head of steam, though, Barca hit them with a sucker punch.

Carles Puyol made a key interception on the half-way line, and back-pedalling United were never able to clear. Xavi then hung up a delicious cross for Messi, who headed back across goal from the left, leaving the 'keeper flailing as the ball nestled in the net.

Manchester United almost replied immediately. Tevez played across the face of goal from the right, only for Giggs to scuff an effort and Ronaldo to be blocked out by Valdes at the back post.

On-song Puyol rose to head powerfully into the arms of the 'keeper shortly after, but then United's frustration surfaced. Ronaldo's challenge on the aforementioned Barca captain and substitute Paul Scholes' late slide on Busquets were both met with yellow cards.

In the last ten minutes there were more near misses for the Spanish side; Iniesta and Puyol forced Van der Sar to think quickly in order to make two good stops.

Thus it finished, and Barcelona are the Champions League winners 2008-09.

Planet transfixed by Ronaldo v Messi

When two of the world's most famous clubs come together to contest the UEFA Champions League final on 27 May in Rome, so too will two of the planet's best players.

Match-winners
Such is the talent each side boasts, though, this statement could be applied to any number of the Manchester United FC and FC Barcelona squads: Xavi Hernández and Paul Scholes, Wayne Rooney and Samuel Eto'o, Thierry Henry and Dimitar Berbatov. The head-to-head of Barça's Lionel Messi and United No7 Cristiano Ronaldo, however, is perhaps the most mouthwatering contest.

Goals galore
Two of the most marketable footballers on the planet, are also two of the most deadly − Ronaldo is the joint leading scorer in the Premier League with 18 goals, quite a feat for somebody considered a winger, while Messi is not far behind the Liga's Pichichi contenders with 23. The 21-year-old Argentinian averages exactly a goal every two league games in Spain (54 in 108 matches), while United's Portuguese international is almost as prolific, with 84 in 196 domestic league appearances.

Individual awards
When put to the vote, Ronaldo holds the edge; according to his peers and journalists anyway. The 24-year-old won the FIFA World Player of the Year and the Ballon d'Or in 2008, both times nudging Messi into second place. Last season saw a similar story in the UEFA Champions League scoring stakes as the former Sporting Clube de Portugal player edged Barça's No10 into the runners-up spot with his eight goals, including one in the final, to Messi's six. This term, though, Messi tops the charts with eight, while Ronaldo has scored just four to date.

'From another planet'
Asked which of the two players was the best, Barcelona's Daniel Alves opted for his team-mate, saying: "He's from another planet because his ability is unbelievable; the way he can unbalance a match." He added of the impending meeting with Ronaldo: "I think it will be quite a duel and I hope that Messi will come out on top." Messi, meanwhile, refuted the suggestion that it would be a Messi v Ronaldo final. "No, it will be Barcelona v Manchester. These are the best teams in the world and this is a final that the people hoped for."

Tuhan Baru Sembahan Manusia Hamba

Lupakan kedaulatan Sultan Perak. Lupakan kedaulatan Raja-raja.

Kabel-kabel Illuminati saban hari merancang.

FC Barcelona and Manchester United FC have produced some memorable European nights and with both sides playing some of the most exciting football in Europe this season another classic encounter is expected at the UEFA Champions League final in Rome on 27 May. They have played each other nine times in European competition with United winning three and Barça two, and it is Sir Alex Ferguson's side who have had more to cheer down the years after beating their Catalan rivals to lift the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1991 and in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League last season.

  • 2007/08 UEFA Champions League semi-finals
Barcelona 0-0 Manchester United Manchester United 1-0 Barcelona (agg: 1-0)
The five previous meetings between the two teams had served up 27 goals, but with so much at stake the focus this time was on defence. Playing in their first match at the Camp Nou since winning the UEFA Champions League in 1999, United got off to a flying start and were awarded a third-minute penalty, only for the competition's leading scorer Cristiano Ronaldo to uncharacteristically fire wide. United were on the back foot for much of the match but held out for a goalless draw before winning the tie at Old Trafford. Paul Scholes, who had missed the 1999 final through suspension, ensured his side got back there again with a spectacular 14th-minute strike.

  • 1998/99 UEFA Champions League group stage
Manchester United 3-3 Barcelona Barcelona 3-3 Manchester United
The teams played out two thrilling 3-3 draws in Group D, and though there are no survivors from that Barcelona side in the team today five of the current United squad were involved. Ryan Giggs and Scholes scored the opening two goals of the September 1998 game at Old Trafford, while Wes Brown, Gary Neville and Scholes all figured in the return at the Camp Nou two months later. Rivaldo earned Barcelona a point with a 73rd-minute strike in that game, his second of the night, but it was not enough to stop them crashing out of the competition. United would return to the Camp Nou six months later to lift the trophy.

  • 1994/95 UEFA Champions League group stage
Manchester United 2-2 Barcelona Barcelona 4-0 Manchester United
Scholes made his European debut as a 67th-minute substitute as United fought back to earn a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford, but they were taught a lesson in the return. Six months after losing 4-0 to AC Milan in the final, Johan Cruyff's Barcelona were in commanding form themselves, a pair of goals from Hristo Stoichkov and strikes from Romário and Albert Ferrer completing a 4-0 win. The present Barcelona coach, Josep Guardiola, was in the Blaugrana lineup that day, while for United Giggs played for 79 minutes before being replaced by Scholes.

  • 1991 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup final
Manchester United 2-1 Barcelona
Sir Alex lifted his first European trophy for United eight years after having won it with Aberdeen FC thanks to a pair of Mark Hughes goals at De Kuip in Rotterdam. Playing against his former club, Hughes struck in the 67th and 74th minutes to put United in control, but a Ronald Koeman free-kick with eleven minutes to play set up a tense finale. Despite Nando's 84th-minute dismissal, Cruyff's side pressed to the end but could not prevent United from marking the return of English clubs to European competition with a trophy.

  • 1983/84 UEFA Cup Winner's Cup quarter-final
Barcelona 2-0 Manchester United Manchester United 3-0 Barcelona (agg: 3-2)
Cesar Luis Menotti's Barcelona looked on course for a place in the semi-finals after a 2-0 first-leg victory at the Camp Nou, but United came storming back at Old Trafford. Diego Maradona, a substitute in the first leg, was given a starting role but it was United's 'Captain Marvel', Bryan Robson, who stole the show, giving United hope with a 21st-minute strike before pulling Ron Atkinson's side level six minutes after the break. Frank Stapleton added the third and decisive goal a minute later to send United through to the semi-finals where they lost to Juventus.

Barcelona draws 1-1 with Chelsea to reach Champions League final

LONDON — Andres Iniesta's injury-time equalizer put Barcelona into the Champions League final Wednesday after a 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
Chelsea led after Michael Essien's ninth-minute strike at Stamford Bridge and had a handful of penalty appeals turned down.
But Iniesta's goal, after a 0-0 draw in Spain last week, means that Barcelona goes through on away goals and will meet defending champion Manchester United in Rome on May 27.

Real Madrid 2 - 6 Barcelona

hohoho.. sek aku mene lagi. Aritu 2-0. Pahtu 6-2 pulok. Ganah2. Pahtu kito tunggu tengok lawe Chelsea pulok. Kito tengok sek dio nok main bola ko, nok main ore. :D. Supo kato Guardiola "Susoh nok main nge ore hok tokse main bola nie".hehe bereh sek kito!

Barcelona humiliated Real Madrid at the Bernabeu this evening to move seven points at the top of La Primera with four games to play.

In a frenetic encounter, featuring eight goals, the Catalans outclassed their opponents in a terrific display of attacking football and could easily have had more goals than the six they scored.

After going behind early to a Gonzalo Higuain header they responded well and within seven minutes found themselves in front.

First Thierry Henry passed the ball around Iker Casillas and then with twenty minutes on the clock, Carles Puyol found himself unmarked from a free-kick to head into the net.

The Catalans were not about to stop at 2-1 either and they continued to push forward, forcing Casillas to make a few more saves before a Lassana Diarra mistake saw Lionel Messi add a third.

Madrid hit back soon after the break as yet another free-kick resulted in a goal, this time with Sergio Ramos heading home at the back post.

Henry scored his second nearly immediately after though to secure the win and then Messi added another with a superb goal later, before Gerard Pique got on the scoresheet after tapping from close range.

The win puts Barcelona within touching distance of the Primera title and means that Madrid's season is all but over with four games left.

With both coaches deciding to go for their strongest teams from the start, it was little surprise that the match started at a frantic pace. Within the first minute Sergio Ramos had clumsily passed straight to Messi, who found Xavi, only for Iker Casillas to save his shot from outside the box. That chance set the tone for the early stages though as Arjen Robben darted through the Barcelona defence a couple of times and Messi set up Eto'o for the striker to disappointingly shoot straight at the 'keeper.

The visitors looked the more likely to score but it was Madrid who sent the Bernabeu wild by taking the lead, as Ramos shook off Eric Abidal to cross straight to Higuain who, completley unmarked, headed past Victor Valdes. It was the perfect start for the home team but, within seven minutes of the goal, they found themselves behind.

First, Messi chipped a delightful ball over the top of Ramos to Henry, who slotted past Casillas with his right foot, and then, with on the 20 minute mark, Fabio Cannavaro conceded a needless free-kick on the left flank, which was subsequently whipped in for Puyol to head home.

It was a frantic start to the match and the pace was unrelenting as Robben's shot was saved by Valdes and then Daniel Alves forced his 'keeper to make another block as he nearly scored an own goal. It was Barcelona who looked the more dangerous though as Casillas had to save from Messi from close range and then watch as the Argentine struck a shot just wide of the post.

The space allowed to Barcelona had to tell soon and just after the half hour mark it did, as Xavi stole the ball from Lassana Diarra and passed in Messi, who finished past the 'keeper to make it three. Even Alves nearly got in on the act as he hit a free-kick on target for once and forced Casillas to palm away, just before the interval.

After the break it was the same story too, as Barcelona continued to look threatening; Henry beating Ramos with ease on the left before winning a corner that was eventually cleared. Only Robben looked dangerous for the home side but he resorted to going to ground easily rather than try to beat Puyol on the flank.

Yet again though, Madrid scored against the run of play and, yet again, it was thanks to some poor marking from Barcelona. A free-kick on the right was whipped in by Robben and at the back post Ramos headed home past Valdes, to give the Bernabeu some hope with 35 minutes to go.

Not long after Madrid thought they were back in the match though, Barcelona responded to score their fourth of the game. A delightful chip over the top from Xavi found Henry, who beat the on-rushing Casillas to the ball and tapped around him from the edge of the box to spark wild celebrations from the Catalans.

With a two goal lead, Barcelona began to slow the pace down, sending on Seydou Keita to replace Henry, but even without the Frenchman they grabbed a fifth. Some superb link-up play between Xavi and Messi resulted in the Spaniard fooling three defenders on the edge of the box and playing in his team-mate, who dummied before tapping past Casillas' near post.

The humiliation didn't stop there either, as Pique started a move on the half-way line by playing in Eto'o, and then was found in the box by the striker to tap home at the second attempt. The goal sparked a mass exodus in the Camp Nou and even the referee took pity on Madrid as he called full-time on the game with nearly no injury-time.

MELAYU

Melayu itu
Nakalnya bersulam jenaka
Budi bahasanya tidak terkira
Kurang ajarnya tetap santun
Jika menipupun bersopan
Berani jika bersalah
Takut kerana benar,
Janji simpan di perut
Selalu pecah di mulut,
Biar mati adat
Jangan mati anak.

Malah mua'alaf bertakrif Melayu
(Setelah disunat anunya itu).
Dalam sejarahnya
Melayu itu pengembara lautan
Melorongkan jalur sejarah zaman
Begitu luas daerah sempadan
Sayangnya kini segala kehilangan.
Melayu itu kaya falsafahnya
Kias kata bidal pusaka
Akar budi bersulamkan daya.
Malangnya Melayu itu kuat bersorak
Terlalu ghairah pesta temasha
Sedangkan kampung telah tergadai
Sawah sejalur tinggal sejengkal
Tanah sebidang mudah terjual.
Meski telah memiliki telaga
Tangan masih memegang tali
Sedang orang mencapai timba.
Berbuahlah pisang tiga kali
Melayu itu masih bermimpi
Walaupun sudah mengenal universiti
Masih berdagang di rumah sendiri.
Berkelahi cara Melayu
Menikam dengan pantun
Menyanggah dengan senyum,
Marahnya dengan diam
Merendah bukan menyembah
Meninggi bukan melonjak.
Watak Melayu menolak permusuhan
Tapi jika marah tak nampak telinga
Musuh di cari ke lubang cacing
Tak dapat tanduk telinga dijinjing,
Maruah dan agama dihina jangan
Hebat amuknya tak kenal lawan.
Berdamai cara Melayu indah sekali
Silatulrahim hati yang murni
Maaf diungkap senantiasa bersahut,
Tangan diulur segera bersambut
Luka pun tidak lagi berparut.
Baiknya hati Melayu itu tak terbandingkan
Segala yang ada sanggup diberikan
Sehingga tercipta sebuah kiasan:
"Dagang lalu nasi ditanakkan
Suami pulang lapar tak makan
Anak dipangkuan mati kebuluran."
Bagaimanakah Melayu abad dua puluh satu,
MAsihkah tunduk tersipu-sipu?
Jangan takut melanggar pantang
Jika pantang mengahalang kemajuan;
Jangan segan menentang larangan
Jika yakin kepada kebenaran;
Jangan malu mengucapkan keyakinan
Jika percaya kepada keadilan.
Jadilah bangsa yang bijaksana
Memegang tali memegang timba
Memiliki ekonomi mencipta budaya
Menjadi tuan di negara Merdeka
